Amber moved to Nashville in 2006 to pursue a Clinical Laboratory Science degree from Vanderbilt University. While in school, she began modeling for designers Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier, NIMA, ADAEM, Gustavo Cadile. This love of fashion merged with her love of science, birthing her website DNA Stylix. This website encompassed how fashion was influenced by all the areas of science and technology. After writing for a little less than one year, she covered press at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York for designers Pamella Roland, Mathieu Mirano, Zang Toi, Dominic Louis, Katie Gallagher. Upon returning to Nashville, she made the transition from modeling to wardrobe styling.

Amber is a student lecturer for the Art2STEM program offered by the Adventure Science Center where she lectures to 4th through 8th grade girls about the content on DNA Stylix.

In 2015 she joined the Fashion Merchandising Advisory Committee for the O'More College of Design and will continue to serve for the 2017 school year. She is also a member of the Iroquois Alliance and on the Event Committee for the 2017 race year benefiting the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
